damage. The wind, which was very light blew in the direction we were travelling S.C. We arrived at the Station about 3'O'clock P.M. on the 11th and found that the house was uninhabitable, being nothing but an open pen of logs. However we set to work immediately banking up the snow, to keep the cold from without, and got up our cooking stove to lower the temperature within. But all deserted the place except two for more comfortable quarters in the small yarte of a native living near the Station. The 13th was entirely occupied in fixing the house, and I slept in the house the second night or rather passed the night not being able to sleep on account of the intense cold, which still ranged from 50[[degree symbol]] to 65[[degree symbol]] minus.

The 14th 15th and 16th were spent in chinking the house with deerskin and building a "chual". After having having finished these, we began to experience some degrees of comfort. After a days rest we commenced getting our poles for the [[Umbar?]].

19th Sunday we all had a wash and change of clothing. This was the first wash any of us had had in 8 days. I suffered severely from jaw ache. I took cold in my face coming down the river.
