Sir:--
I have the honor to present to you Sir a report of my operations since my arrival in the country. Before proceeding I would call your attention to the fact that such operations have not been so extensive as I wished to make them, on account of the difficulty to procure transportation during the winter, all available dogs being wanted to bring up provisions from St. Michaels. I began directly after arriving at Unalachlut, to locate that place; the Longitude I calculated by taking the mean of several results from Lunar observations with objects both
