Sir: 

I have had your address given me by Col. Eastman for the purpose of addressing you on the subject of a school for the education of the colored children of this place. They have no school at this time, and the Ladies of our Episcopal congregation who have a large Sunday School for their benefit, wish also to start a day school for them, and to lend it their influence.
