The colored people of the town of Tarboro have made much exertion to establish a school in that town, but have been unable to procure such a building as would furnish sufficient accommodations. They have purchased a lot on which to build, and are now unable to go on with their designs for want of means. I therefore lay this case before you, and hope that as this is our first call upon you, you will be able to grant our request.
