But I have not encouraged him much. I have thought he would find better openings for his services as teacher than as doctor. And there are plenty of American doctors glad to accept such appointments, while few educated men care to come as teachers. But time may change.

Dr. Patton is an old friend of ours. We knew him in Chicago and I have been several times to his house in Washington.

I like this idea of linking all these interests together so they may help each other.

Rev. Mr. Hall of Berthold is on his way East. He goes to Washington & then to New York. I will send him your address.
