degrees of ability - & we could not expect much from the Indian girl but there is a great deal in patience & teaching & in making work a pleasure & I should be as faithful in the fear ^[[& love]] of the Lord as well as in love & sympathy for the Indian people. I could not take her to my home until the last of August, or untill I return from my summer trip - And I do not think it is best to bring a young person into the city this time of year.

Let me hear from you when convenient. Mr. Miller the brother of your James, visited us or spent the Sunday with us & can give you an idea of how we live
