D.J's book shows well what the English Church Miss Socr-and Canadian Methodists have done for that region - is it not very strange that the large and wealthy Presby Body of the United States do not put in the hands of their Miss "Joe" abundant means to establish the Protectorate Homes so urgently called for? An effort is to be made this coming session of Congress to get Educational and Police laws passed to benefit Alaska. The general indifference, except for politics and clique gain, of our Congress make, as you know, progressive [[underline]]good[[/underline]] advances, difficult to be attained - The selfish tyranny of Congress and State Legislatures in preparing itself for some trying disruption in a not distant future. The People will not always bear with these Selfish bodies, made by themselves, and yet when in power, neglecting true public interests. Jefferson said "When I reflect that God is just, I tremble for my country."

I hope that these lines will reach you at a time when you can move more freely than for the month past - Henry wrote after being released of great pain "Very well today, tho' very ill yesterday-How is thy life Counterchanged!"
