was infinitely sad to have her die, for she had everything to live for. She is a great loss not only to her husband and her immediate family, but to a large circle of friends. I was very fond of her- my circle has been made sadly smaller in the last two years.

I received several copies of your Omaha pamphlet and made good use of them. Have you even a glimmer of hope that justice has dawned for the Indians, and that Lamar will care to be their deliverer from bondage?

When do you mean to come East? you have many friends here who speak of you with great interest. I wish I had a home for you to come to- but send me word if you can
