Lewiston Aug. 2" 1889.
Miss A. C. Fletcher.

Dear Madam,
I send you enclosed $2 [[underlined]] 00 [[/underlined]] worth of Postage-stamps and have also mailed your letters today.
     Monteiths case, stands as follows
Hon. Secretary Noble has requested him to [[underlined]] resign [[/underlined]], But Monteith refused.
telegraphed back to have investigation &c.
And since that, nothing is heard from Washington.
I fear, if Government gives him investigation he will get his own man, and will come out alright.
I wish you will do something if you see fit.
     Yours grateful friend
     James Reubens.
