The Com/er on reading this paper, first declined to aid Rubins, saying "I have carefully read & considered Miss Fletcher's letter and do not think Rubin's can be trusted he would go astray"- subsequently, very unexpectedly, he changed fronts - [[and?]] April he [[?]] you $167- towards James education- if I could succeed in procuring a place for him as messenger or
