Miss A. C. Fletcher,
U.S. Special land Agent
Washington D.C.

Dear Madam,
Your favor of the 10" inst is at hand, in which you inform me of the complete arrangements you have made for me.
You further desire to know, what I think of the plans &ct.
All I have to say, I am as willing and ready to-day as I ever were to embrace the opportunity.
Though it is hard for me to part with my family yet it may all be for the best since they can be cared for, even without my presence.
The kindness of the noble Ladies and gentlemen, are appreciated, and words cannot, contain my thanks, which is deeply felt by me.
My faith in ^you as a friend of the Indian race, made me feel assured that the way may be opened for me some way.
And I have not been disappointed in this.
Now I stand ready, send the "money"," and we shall soon meet again, hoping you and many friends are all well.
Yours very gratefully,
Jos. Rubens.
