My dear Miss Fletcher:
I have some compunctions about accepting your generous offer; but I am going to do it, and shall go home with Francis, if he will take me along.
I beg you won't send me the U.S. notes at present.  A year from now will do just as well.  I have a fancy for keeping them, because when I see them the recollection of just how they were sung comes to me much more vividly than when I read a copy.  They bring up the scene in your room, which marks an epoch in my life.
I do not think you need be anxious about such publicity as I have given the Indian music here.  Not a song has got out, or will get out.  And what has been done serves
