[[R?]] in a great cause, though I suppose no one can do that fully who has not been in the ground & seen for themselves. 

Much of what you have written has been very encouraging to Rev. Morgan & your suggestions & advice have been of great practical value to him.  You  perhaps have learned that he has authorized a new building as per your plans. 

I hope he will be able to get there & see for himself in the late summer or early autumn, though plans are as yet uncertain. Mr. Bell leaves for California on [[M?]] day which will keep him in the Office for the next two months.

His five weeks in New York did him a great deal of good though he was pretty busy most of the time, and he returned to the Office work [[ten?]] days ago feeling quite like himself and ready for the tug of war. I intend, however, to have him take it as easy as possible during the hot weather. 

He went to Carlisle to present the diplomas. There were eleven graduates & the Commencement was quite a successful one. 

[[?]] Cook attended [[Co?]] [[?]] at Hampton & enjoyed it much. [[?]] [[Foesome?]] was at the Office a day or two ago. She & [[?]] Lileston are on their way to attend
