Dear Miss Fletcher:

Yours of May 8 at hand. I wrote you yesterday; but will repeat. The two invitations you have rec'd are not the same. Green of N.Y. is Sec'y of the M.T.N.A. & invited you at my request, sent to the Pres., E. M. Bowman of N.Y. The other inv. comes in consequence of my request to Mathews to secondary request to Bowman. He replied that he could do better than that. He wrote: "I can make a session of the Musical Congress on Aboriginal Music" giving Miss Fletcher a paper on the Liturgies & you on the technical musical aspects of the case." He has some connection with the Fair; I don't know just what. — I have a third invitation to treat the subject at the Folk-lore Congress, which is under consideration.

I am glad you have accepted both invitations, even under a misapprehension. Better give the Wawan ceremony at one place & other music at the other. We have
