My dear Miss Fletcher:

Yours enclosing the copy of Sen. M.'s letter came this morning. I am glad every thing looks so favorable & especially glad that you have seen Cushing. It really looks, now, as if I might be with you next year.

I have just read your Century article + I don't see why you shouldn't be proud of it. If the Editors have caused you to miss some points that you wanted to make the public will never know it; and the paper reads well. It is not only interesting, but fascinating . & I have conquered one more of Dr Boas' cylinders, - one of the most difficult. But I shan't get any where near through them by the end of the school year. I hope they will form part of my Gov't work next year.

Good luck to you all.
Yours as ever
J.C. Fillmore
