speech of one of the Indians at St Louis as given by Barrows and others is not a fable. Unless you have such authority as the private records of the Hudson Bay Co. there is nothing to sustain the details of your article of the April No. of the Church at Home and abroad. For it could not have escaped the many sharp eyes seeking for it from 1833-1860. With kindest regards and best wishes
S.J. Parker D.D.
Son of Rev Samuel Parker, the author and leader of the mission of A.B. C.F.M. to Oregon 1834.
