Will you not, Mr. James, lay this case before Commsr. Morgan and ask him if the U.S. authorities here cannot be told of the malice which prompts this charge and have it dismissed. If Spl. Agt. Leonard has sent in all his evidence, the Commsr. can see from it the grave wrong done a faithful witness by this Agent, who should be prosecuted for his conduct here, his drinking and immorality. Ryan does not believe the Govt. will desert him because he told the truth to Spl. Agt. Leonard. The survey and allotment work has received a severe blow in the loss of Ryan. I do not know where to find a man at this, harvest time.

Very truly yours,

Alice C. Fletcher
