Bancroft. Neb. April 21st 1896 My Dear Friend. I am here tonight so I can send you a few words. You would hear from me very often if I could write. My great loss has been hard on me as it has taken from me what I called home. You know how ambitious I was for Nettie, there will be no use of my going over the disappointment that has come to me from this source. Am thankful that she has employment, this makes it a little easier for me. After so many years of study it would have been hard to have her come home and be idle. I thank
