The accent is on the last syllable, wa-kan'; but I notice in the formulas Dorsey writes for the vocative [[wa'kandae?]]. [[best guess, paper torn]]. Does this cast a doubt on the supposition that [[underlined]] wa [[/underlined]] is not a part of the root but the intransitive prefix? If it is the intransitive prefix, we must [[look for the?]] [[best guess, paper torn]] radical in the second syllable, [[underlined]] kan [[/underlined]]. Dorsey, (Siouan [[?]] [[paper torn]] suggests [[paper torn]] [[other way?]]
