Was there any peculiar way win which the poles ^on the roof were tied to the stringers?

^[[Twisted bark around around, in & out.

Can you sketch the way they were tied?

^[[When the end of the strand was reached another was knotted to it. There was no tying. It was twisted around.

How were ctr. slabs (made of split cotton wood) fastened to ctr. stringers?

^[[Roof Poles, stringers & slabs were all fastened together by the twisted slippery elm bark. (it was twisted around.) Willow bark also was used. As roof poles reached the top in order to form a well shaped cone (where smoke passes out) alternate roof pole ends were cut off, in order also to make the weaving of the willows easier as it would be too thick to weave otherwise.]]
