The posts needed no brace as they were set in ground an arm's length deep. and the stringers also helped to support the roof etc. There were [[underlined]] no [[/underlined]] straight posts as braces. The beds of laced willow were made in between slabs & posts.

The woven willows were laid over roof poles & slabs, and great bundles of grass tied with twisted grass were placed next by the woven willow.

Only one person put the turf on so it could be well done and they were placed in position, one overlapping the other.
