With regard to his illness, uncle Ralph could answer better than I. He was taken ill on the way to Taftville from Washington. Up to Sunday he didn't think of it as serious and wouldn't have a doctor till 3 P.M. of that day, (14th) He died that night at 10.15 of acute cholera morbus. He suffered acutely, especially toward the last. He was at the home of uncle Ralph (His uncle) at the time of his death.

He was buried in Yantic cemitary, Norwich, Aug 18th, in the lot of uncle Charlie L. Fillmore.

With regard to his musical studies, the earliest I know of were taken at Oberlin college. Mother can give you his ^instructor's name. I am sorry not to be able to give more particulars, but there are others [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] who can be much more positive in their statements.

With most cordial regards to you and Mr. La Flesche, I remain
Very sincerely
T. H. Fillmore
