My dear Sir:

Miss Fletcher has sent me a transcript of your telegram, which pleases me very much. I congratulate you on a decision which seems to me wise in the interests of your people and in your own ultimate interests, despite the present attractiveness of the offer made you. Moreover, your decision expresses a strength and stability of character on your part which I find highly gratifying.

Within two or three days after the receipt of this you may expect to receive your first check for $25 under your new arrangement with Miss Fletcher; it covers the month of April.

Believe me to remain
Yours cordially,

(signed) W J McGee

Ethnologist in Charge.
