Miss Alice C. Fletcher,

My Friend, your first letter with the handkerchiefs in arrived alright. I kept the old ^mans handkerchief and I just hand the handkerchief to the old man and read your letter to him. "All true" he said= She knows my heart. Every thing she says is true- Old people said a man may do many wonderful things through the power of the earthly Gods- He may have power to cure others, and may seem to have fur or hair of one of the animal Gods- he in time will be called away by "Tirawa"- The ceremony of the corn will be given by old man only in your presence and not others. I think there are songs I am not sure- Yes there are- you will see old man upon your arrival- Yes we can find a place to do our work- Badgers' Hotel has been enlarged and the Post Office in now in part of the Hotel- Mr. Murray is here- Mr. Geo J. Harvey- is now Supt & Agt for Pawnees alone- We are cut off from Ponca. The weather will be fine I think- in October- I start with old man & other to Kansas to attend celebration the 30th this month. Will be back 2nd or 3rd of Oct. I hope you are well-

I am Your Friend
