Miss Fletcher,

My Friend, your letter of Dec., 21st reached me. I saw Scout yesterday but did not talk to him. The Indians gathered among themselves and had a very good time Xmas. I have not had any talk with Knife Chief about the ceremonies. I have been very busy ever since I came back. About the [[underlined]] S [[/underlined]] being added to Ka-wa-hah-ru- in man's ritual has double meaning - To the woman you notice Ka-wa-ha is used and is direct to the power in the Heavens. The other ^[[for]] man means the power in the West; and ^[[also]] the Bundle representing a room are ^[[where]] the ceremonies & rituals are kept and is know as Sco-rah-e-kah-art-. So the [[underlined]] S [[/underlined]] is added. It is to show that the ceremonies are carried out by men ^[[and]] actions by men while the other you can see is what has been created by Ti-ra-wa - as the Bundle was given by Ti-ra-wa - who is ever ready to give - so must this Bundle be called the same only calling it the same adding the S to show it is a woman - Saw our other old friend and I handed him
