Lapwai Sept 4th 1902

Dear Miss Gay

You are the first person who ever asked & recd a photo of this homely person. I feel sure you will think it best to keep it for your own charitable eyes. I give it into your hands do as you please with it. burn it if you want to. James Dickson stands beside me at that time he was a friend of mine, he is now in Carlisle. Mazie sent hers, Jerry's & the horse.

Just think of it, we expect my Sister (the only one I have now) And her daughter the one you saw in Chicago tomorrow. (Mazie's Mother & Sister) How good the Lord is to me in many ways_ They expect to be here two months. I am happy I have a home to entertain them in.

No trouble if I can help you you darling friend
I think your own picture of the valley will be better than the large one here
