my head quarters there.

The slip of paper you sent me I recognize Mr. Gilmore's writing. I have had some correspondence with him in regard to the incident referred to. The story is alright, only the Pawnees never did as told in the paper. The young girl was killed by a young white-boy, who was afterwards given up by immigrants to Indians and was killed. The girl was a chiefs daughter. The Pawnees are now having the Thunder Ceremonies that Scout gave you, for the thunders have sounded and is right now to have the ceremonies. Pawnees all remember you. They also speak of Mr. LaFlesche. Remember me to him and Sam.
