to abound!

I met a "Friend" here a fortnight ago, a Mr. Isaac Cotsworth of New Westminster, who is greatly interested in things (& people) Indian. I spoke to him of you & ventured to give him your address & you may hear from him. He has had personal acquaintance with one or two well-known Indians of this neighborhood & had seen & heard one or two interesting things. Mr. Cotsworth is an interesting man himself. I have two articles of his in the British Columbia Magazine on Calendars & Almanacks, which look as if they were full of matter. He is also concerning himself much about [[strikethrough]] human [[/strikethrough]] public concerns & endeavouring to expose some that are not on a very honorable basis so he is a person to reckon with.

We are having very poor weather — nearly as poor as last summer in England, which is saying a good deal. Perhaps there is more sunshine in between whiles but one can never count on two fine days together & a macintosh is an essential part of one's wardrobe. It is rather disappointing as I had hoped for fine weather.

I expect to remain here until about the third week in August & then to start homeward slowly, paying visits & making stops on my way across. Miss Pease is to join me at Winnipeg & we intend going down the Great Lakes & visiting Niagara, finally arriving at Boston to take the Leyland line ("Bohemian") home on Sep. 20th. I am going to book the berths today at the C.P.R. office.

I wonder whether you are getting to England or going to Santa Fe?

I look back with very great pleasure on my visit to you. I shall never forget it or you.

Jeanie's baby came a week ago — a girl. So Billy has a sister.

With Kindest regards
Yours very sincerely
