Dear Miss Fletcher:

At a recent meeting of the faculty I was commissioned to prepare a memorial volume on the late Dr. Alexander F. Chamberlain. I feel that I shall have to rely upon his friends and colleagues to help me out in this matter,so I asked Mrs. Chamberlain if she could let me see any of the letters that have been sent in to her. From your very kind note I have made the following extract which I should like to use in the memorial volume if I have your permission to do so. I need not say, however, that if you could add something to it in order ot make it a little longer we should all appreciate it.

Most cordially yours,
