is also a decided effort to try & draw the allotment out, to get a new agent, a new recast of the land.  All remaining charges are afloat; that I allot agriculture land as grazing, that is in [[mile?]] amts;  That I allot strange Divisions; That I cheat on the one hand and am too generous on the other:  The Agency farmer tells the Indian I cheat them, the Agent says I sign out the land in [[concerning?]] pieces, the Indian are stirred up within & without the politicians claims that I care for nothing but the Indians & do not regard the rights of the settler, etc.  It is a tempest in a teapot.  All this I care nothing for, the difficulty seems that I am fairly confident that my surveyor is being tampered with.  I have hitherto regarded him as honest.  I have respected him until recently, and now I do think he cheats in granting the land, but he likes the job or the pay it brings and he is managing in such a way that I fear I cannot push him thro. this year.  When I charge him with
