My dear Lassie

You are the cleverest of women. The photos of the lodge are capital. We all enjoy them greatly. I am looking daily for a letter from Rosalie to tell about the couches. Francis says a pole was hung by raw hide from the middle [[strips?]] & to this was tied the skin, so [[image:sketch]] I do not know whether it would be well to hang this arras. it was used only in winter. I doubt if you could manage the [[dress]]. The kettle over the fire would be [[?]]. That being from a slanting stick or pole.

I am beginning to look for you. I think by the last of next week you could come & by that time I hope to be settled. I don't want you to come home until the smell of paint has gone. I am painting the kitchen walls, the first coat is on, the second will go on this week, the third next week, so by the end of next week all will be done.
