The circle first drawn on the ground.

The interior of this space [[decorated]] about 18 inches the dirt throw up around the outside as a sort of wall.

The long passage way entrance has a step at the outer end about 6 or 8 inches lift & then the way descends in the circle of the lodge floor.

The fireplace in the center is made a shallow saucer shape as it wears deeper by use.

The [[strikethrough]] six or [[/strikethrough]] seven posts holes for the inner circle of posts are dug "knee deep"- between 2 or 2 1/2 ft. The 17 post holes for the outer circle of posts are dug about half that depth.

The seven posts stand straight, they are large. I've no measurements of them. [[but?]] they were from 12 to 14 inches in diameter. They were trunks of trees. the crotch was formed by the first heavy limb or branch.
