When he was a young boy never thought of farming, he was an Indian but when the White people began to gather about & get [[slacker?]] it put it in his head, but he did not get on very well his Indian habits were stronger.

He saw the white people were coming & one soon be many & that some day all would have to work & he would try & learn then so that it would not be so hard. When the time came when he would have to work, he went to the Agent & told [[strikethrough]] him [[/strikethrough]] he wanted to work the Agent a [[Canadian,?]] said that was good to go to work & gave him a plow.

In reply had no one [[missionary?]] or other put this in his head.
