of allotment issued to them in 1871, these allotments having been approved by the Chiefs of the Tribe and the Department of the Interior, or else who could establish their residence on the Reservation in 1865 by evidence acceptable to the Tribe in open Counsel, at which time the claims were fully and freely discussed in the presence of the contesting parties or their representative.  A full report of each case wherein the mixed blood claim was not admitted by the Tribe has been rendered the Department for approval. With one exception all mixed blood claimants have left the Reservation, this exception is Mrs Margaret Sloan and her grandson Thomas Sloan.
