taken to make this allotment of Lands to the Omaha Indians final and decisive.

The 700 blanks are called for, because but two entries should be made upon a page, in order that the record may be kept accurately as to the transfer of each piece of land by death & inheritance. The binding, paging, & indexing are requested, because if the sheets are loose, they are liable to be lost and torn, and by binding them in a volume they are put in a convenient & permanent shape for use.

While in Washington I requested these land office blanks, and the Hon. Commissioner will probably recollect the conversation & his granting of the request. I would therefore remind the Dept. of the promise and ask that the papers be hastened forward to me.

Respectfully

Special U.S. Indian Agent.
