Omaha & Winnebago
Nebraska, June 2nd 3

Hon. H. Price,
Com. of Indian Affairs.

Dear Sir:-

It seems important that a record be kept of the contested cases in the allotting of lands in severalty to the Omaha Indians.

Circumstances may arise in the future when evidence of an exact and authentic character will be needed to settle controvercies, and such evidence will be difficult to obtain, unless a record similar to that proposed be preserved at the Agency.

A substantial book of about 300 numbered pages will be necessary.

If the Hon. Commissioner approves, I would request that such a book to be used for the purpose,

Yours respectfully
