Omaha and Winnebago

Sir:-

Mrs. Amelia Barnaby Campbell is the daughter of Me-ato-con-da, a full blood Omaha and Mitchell Barnaby a white man.  She was born and reared with the Omaha tribe and was living here with her mother at the time of the treaty of 1865.  She married [[?]] year Samual Campbell, a white man, and went to live with her husband upon her allotment on the half breed Nemaha Reservation, where she has resided up to this time, except during visits to her mother who lived here on her allotment of 1871 and died here some eight years since.

Mrs Campbell's claim to land was not presented to me until recently and I have now verified her statements.  The tribe admit her title to land here, but the counsel propose
