that her children be cast off.  This proposal was not unanimous but suffered to pass by the other members.  The proposal seems to me illegal and unjust.  The children through their mother have an inalienable right here. 

Josephine Barnaby, the child of Mrs. Campbell's brother, William Barnaby, has received her allotment with the full consent of the Department and the tribe, and there is no reason why the children of Amelia Barnaby Campbell should be treated differently.  There is no lack of land to be offered as an excuse.

In view of the rights of the children of Amelia Barnaby Campbell, which seem to me of a nature superior to the adjudication of members of the counsel, I would respectfully request that my decision that these children be given allotments of land under the Act of Aug. 7, 1882 be approved.

As the work is rapidly approaching completion I would respectfully request that the decision of the Hon. Commissioner be telegraphed
