A question having arisen as to the date to which the age of allottees should refer under the first section of the severalty Act, the Acting Secretary of the Interior, under date of
September 8, 1887, aApproved the recommendation of this Office that the age of a person at the date of the order of the President directing allotments to be made to his tribe should be regarded as the age to govern the quantity of land to be allotted to him.
