lying between the R. R. the river and the East lines of Lot 1. Dec 22. will be needed for the R. R. embankment, the road to the [[ barns?]] and spaces for drawing out the wood.

I am informed by the Agent that the R. R. officials who were at the Agency negociating for the right of way agreed to allow the Indians for access to the 200 feet taken for the R. R. crossing at the river bank, and to permit the people at all times to gather there the wood which comes down the Clearwater. As this is the only point where wood can be obtained without a long journey to the mountains necessitating strong horses and wagons, the [[f?]] access to the boom is very important to the entire community; and I would respectfully suggest that the R. R. official be required to put their verbal consent in writing that the Indians may not suffer from any change that may occur in the future.

Respectfully
