Ft Lapwai Ida.
July 15 1

Hon. Commis of Indian Affairs.
Sir:

With your permission I would like to add to the land set apart for pasturage for the Ft. Lapwai training School.

Lots 4, 13, 20 and 29. Sec. 10. T. 35 R. 4 W. These lots bring the west line up upon the bench land, and will permit the laying out of a road on the west boundary ^[[of the pasture]] which will be of benefit to the Country. I did not mention these lots in my first communication as an Indian had claimed the land, he has since withdrawn voluntarily to take his land in a better location, and the land this shown open lies so as to benefit the School and will not be of use to any allotee, nor profitable to leave open for settlement. Allotments run along the West line of these Lots and along this line a practical solution can be opened, which it is not possible on the East line of this proposed addition.

Respectfully asking your approval, I remain
Respectfully
