Having made this statement I leave it to the Department to take such action as they deem proper to remove the intruders Holt and Cox from the land required for legitimate allotment.

The writer of the enclosed letter Mr A. H. Viles owns a ranch off the reservation, and bears a good reputation.  His legal wife as a full-blood Nez Perce and takes an allotment for herself.
