Mr Sam Phinney,

Dear Sir:

Since my return to Washington D.C. I have been shown a letter addressed by the Indian Commis. under date of Dec. 9. 1889. to the Commis of the Land Office, this letter having been drawn forth by a letter from Mr R. J. Munroe of Lewistown Idaho. From this letter it seems to me that there are some serious difficulties to overcome before you can secure patent to the old Craig place. Unless you can bring some new proof to Washington I very much fear you must save what you can of your old home by having it allotted to your children. Do not delay in gathering new proof to what ever you can do. for as the matter stands I shall probably be ordered to allot the land on my
