land in question. Late in the fall of 1885 or spring of 1886.  Acting upon my advice Thomas Bronche selected as a permanent home a place about fourteen miles from the agency, leaving James Moses in possession of the tract of land, so long cultivated by him (in part) and now in dispute.  Before vacating my position as Agent at said Agency in Sept 1886 I gave said Moses a certificate to effect that he had selected as his home, the land in question in accordance with the terms of the treaty of 1863, said tract of land was his by right of occupancy and selection and he has held the same to this day.

Petty jealousies and spites exist among Indians as well at Whites and in my opinion the allotting Agent has been imposed upon as to information and has not sought be informed
