a large scalp. with a part of the scalp lock bound about with buck skin was upon the out-side near the hinge of the shell. doubled or folded together, & a little bit of buffalo hide & hair was at one end. Within there were layers of mat & folded over so as to go into the shell was a green [[?]] of bundle of dressed skin tied with twisted sinew - within the bundle. was clay or earth.  I have found several seeds. but nothing more.  This earth will be examined under the microscope.
