While their children are taught by
is full of child life - white teachers they are in touch with their
Indian home & here & there ^[[thro out the?]] [[?]] are
scenes that reflect the life & custom of the Indians.

The style of the book I think cannot fail to please you, it has pleased everyone who has heard it.
[[strikeout]] sung if the [[/strikeout]] The book is like a low tone picture, there is no blood & thunder in it - no horrors - nothing to startle, but there is humor, pathos, and the simplicity of the child. Mr Mines & family have heard many chapters
& were delighted with it. Portions of the book have been read to companies here & in Baltimore & have been received with marked approval.

Now my request is, would you be willing to look over this book, & give Mr. La Flesche the benefit of your criticism. If in your judgement the book, as it stands would be favorably received, will you kindly recommend a publisher.

The [[underline]]Ms[[/underline]] is not voluminous - less than a hundred pages.
