I am very glad of this letter. Keep it as one of your treasures, for it is well won praise. and praise worth having.
I have not answered all your letter. Your thoughts about making beautiful our home. Just what did you refer to, the enlarging of the lodge & bathroom?- or the green house?- When I think of the house I get homesick. Here I am trying to gain in heart & strength. I sleep & walk, and read. Every one is very kind to me, very kind. At the request of Mrs Anderson of Baltimore I gave a talk. Sunday P.M at her cottage. A large gathering & all seemed pleased. Mr & Mrs Cushing invited Miss Bradley Miss Gay & me to tea on Friday eve. We had a very pleasant time. Mrs B. left Saturday.
I am reading "Creation Myths of Primitive America" by Jeremiah Curtin. They are all from two tribes in California. Wintu. & Yana. They are very interesting You should read them. I want you to get some good myths in some of your writings. I wish you would look at this book in the Library [[insert]] of Congress [[/insert]]. Read the myth called " Sedit & the Two Brothers Hus." Such a myth is very taking. I hope you will feel like taking up your writing, doing a little, if only a little. Take the hammock - & as you lie in it you can think. You can get up early & write. I'm so glad you had the look at the Rocky Mts. It will help you & me. Perhaps we will do as you say postpone Europe for another year. Get out another book first. God bless & keep you, & prosper you, dear,
Affly M.
