material to work upon. & make a good showing for your first year's work.

Sometimes I get very lonely thinking how long it will be before I shall see you again. I feel as tho my home had slipped away, now you are gone.

So to Mr. Gurley. I suppose they have to many books on hand because they have to keep so many going at a time on account of the printing office. Illustrations, maps, printing binding all are in different hands - have to be let out by contract & the books on hand are in different stages of progress.

I shall feel better when I know where you are. I do hope that I shall soon hear that the detail is settled, then I shall feel that I can get in direct
communication with you. I do wish we could go together somewhere, to Europe would be easy - I hope we will - I may yet see Rome & Paris with you. I hope so, that would be delightful.

I have today a little time to write this note & catch the mail for I went to ride this morning to [[Cleevedon?]], an interesting place by the Lea - or
the Bristol Channel. Was late to lunch & have just come up to write you. Lunch is dinner & supper is dinner - it is funny.

My greetings to everybody - Ever affectionately M
