Yesterday I bought some pens & today I can write more easily & clearly as you see. I think I shall copy these papers more clearly and then I shall be able to read them better. I miss the type writer.

A letter from Mrs Cushing speaks as tho. she was finely going to California for the winter. You being away & Mrs C. being gone leaves me foot loose, & it is just possible I may not hurry back so early as I had intended but nothing is yet fixed. I mean to write to some friends & see if I can find companionship to Italy & Greece. I do not quite like to go all alone. I have been reading the history of this county, Somersetshire and find it very interesting. So many things I want to share with you.

Now Francis do not fail to write me often, and give me your Oklahoma address, don't forget, it takes so long for letters to go. By this time you have heard from me- for I have written you, this is the 6th letter, as often as I could. I sent the check on the 2nd- What is the fact about the Vice President being mixed up in the Indian claims & bribery as stated by the Senator from Oklahoma?-

A delightful letter from Mrs Parson. She is a true friend- Write to her. Remember me to all our friends. God bless you. Ever affly
M.
