My dear Francis

You are I suppose at Walkhill. I am looking for a letter. Do not fail to write me often. for I so want to hear from you. Where in Nebraska do you have to go to get your Civil Service papers? Be sure & tell me all about it.

A very interesting lady has been here the Sister of Dr. Sturge. Miss M. Carter Sturge She is a writer and a very delightful lady I am to visit her in Sept. She has sent me such a comfortable jacket of her own knitting. And some of her books. I am going to send one of the books to Mrs [[Passius?]] to read. I feel sure she will
